1. Capital Building Program .
A major building programme, including relocation of existing facilities and establishment of ophthalmology services at Randwick will cost in the order of $8 million.
The Sydney Children?s Hospital through Lions clubs has been asked to contribute $500,000 to optimise the infrastructure, facilities and equipment specifically for children within the project period.

2. Equipment purchases:
Equipment for the ward, also to be provided under this proposed project includes ophthalmology clinic and operating theatres.
While most of this investment is in operating theatre equipment, all is essential to the spectrum of treatment before, during and after medical procedures.
Particular thought is being given to reducing additional stress or trauma to the child or family. The need for this equipment is urgent.
$371,750 pa x 2 years = $743,500
3. Staffing.
To set this state-of-the-art service in motion, the hospital requires temporary funding of staff for the first two years to assist with co-ordination and planning and the establishment of new initiatives.
Positions to be established include staff specialists and a consultant clinical nurse.
